Structure

The USNPCA is a Member Organization (MO) of Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP).  We are one of over 50 member organizations worldwide but unlike other MOs our only mission is the support of NP.  As an MO we participate as a voting member of NP on such important items as long-term organizational plans and the approval and changes to the Nonviolent Peaceforce's by-laws or the election of new members of the International Governance Council. Our mission is to support the important work being done by Nonviolent Peaceforce by offering training, outreach, fundraising and community for those dedicated to nonviolence.

The USNPCA is comprised of several chapters across the United States and others "at-large" members, or friends, that are available for speaking engagements, facilitating our NCI training or providing up-to-date information from NP.

The USNPCA is completely volunteer driven.  We collect no funds of our own.  Each year at our annual meeting we elect a Coordinating Committee that meets monthly to direct and assist in the on-going work of the chapters and to organize the annual meeting.

In addition to the Coordinating Committee there is also a Mentoring Committee to assist people interested in forming chapters in their area, or becoming association friends.  There is a Communications Committee that connects NP to the chapters, distributes materials to chapters, and manages email and website duties.

The USNPCA also works closely with another MO called the Fundraising Board.  We combine our annual meetings and overlap in many of our duties to promote awareness of NP in North America.
